Some words of welcome
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is my privilege and great pleasure, as President of the European Society (ESPRM), to invite and welcome you to the 19th European Congress of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine to be held in Marseille, France from May 26th to May 31st 2014, at the Palais du Pharo.
ESPRM represents more than 30 national societies of PRM with approximately 16.000 members of these Societies, as well as a great number of individual members. The major goal of ESPRM is to support Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine in the scientific arena of Europe and to bring together established clinicians and young researchers.
The European Congress of PRM is the leading biennial educational event in Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine in Europe, attracting attendance not only from the European Rehabilitation community, but also from worldwide physicians, academicians, and clinical and basic researchers, as well as other healthcare professionals involved in multidisciplinary Rehabilitation care.
Marseille, European City of Culture for the year 2013, is the oldest city in France with a glorious, rich and turbulent history giving it a unique identity. The legend surroundings and the origins of the city, go back to 600 B.C., when it was founded by Greeks from Phocea as a trading port under the name ‘Massalia’.
Today, Marseille is undoubtedly a cosmopolitan city offering a very good opportunity to merge science and culture.
The Congress Organizing Committee in collaboration with SOFMER and the Scientific Committee of the 19th European Congress of PRM, are doing a superb job to present a stimulating scientific program with world renowned faculty, authoritative and innovative keynote lectures, scientific theme tracks, industry luncheon symposia, poster sessions, an integrated industry exhibition, and last but not least magnificent social networking events full of culture and culinary delights.
During the Congress, don’t forget to strengthen your links with the European Society of Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine. Visit the ESPRM Stand and ask about becoming an individual member, renew your membership, meet a friend, and join a committee or a special interest group of ESPRM. Meanwhile don’t forget to consult the ESPRM website (www.esprm.net) for ongoing activities and news.
